A Macro Kind of Morning

I am loving our weather! Just cannot believe it is July and so cool in the mornings. It was 60 degrees this morning!

After I watered my plants, I stayed outside and played around with my macro setting on my cell phone. I got some great pictures.



It's amazing how great cell phone cameras are now.

These Things are SO Ugly!

Our neighbor's dog was running loose yesterday. I heard her barking incessantly. When I looked outside, I could tell that she had something cornered under a large Magnolia tree across the street. I thought I'd better walk across the street and make sure it wasn't one of my cats.

Spring's a Comin'

This is always the first sign of spring around here. When these beauties bloom, we know spring is not far behind!!!!

Prayer Plant

or rabbit track plant, as it is sometimes called. This plant sits on my front porch throughout the spring and summer. It winters inside the house. It has gone crazy this summer, growing huge!!!



I received this plant from my Aunt Betsy, who started her plant from a cutting of my grandfather's plant. He passed away in '89.



That means that the "ancestor" of this plant was alive at least 25 years ago!



I love the history behind this plant. Precious connections!

Friday Night Lights

Our first home game. It was a hot one! A bit better once the sun dropped behind the trees!



The band looked and sounded great! We also beat DeQueen soundly! It was a great night.

The Urge to Travel

Only a little over two weeks until school starts. School = schedules. I look forward to it. I dread it. Oxymoron. Maybe not, but surely two contradictory views.

A day trip to El Dorado to visit old friends. A possible day trip for some of the best Italian food ever! A visit to see my hubby on the job-site. So many options. So little time. I want to do them all. Realistically, I know I can't. But yet, I feel the urge to travel while I can because it won't be long until school ties us down again.

Stay tuned for whatever I decided to do!

Reconnecting

We are enjoying a few days with visiting friends. Friends that we see way too little of. It's so good to reconnect. It also makes me realize how much I miss having them near.

Tuesday afternoon, we had one heck of a storm. It was a pop-up kind of storm. But the rain and the hail it produced was huge!

I Blame AT&T

...for my absence...

As I last posted some two weeks ago, we cancelled our landline. AT&T also cancelled our dsl for almost a full week. I was not a satisfied customer, to say the least.

Well, my dsl is back on. Now I have to get back in the habit of blogging.

So some of the things that are on the calendar for February are:

a very special birthday (tomorrow)
a cardiology check-up for Walter
new shoes
tickets to a ball game
a weekend get-a-way for the family
band banquet
ACT test for Walter


As always, it's going to be a very busy month!

No More Landline for Us

I called our phone company and cancelled our landline today. It will be disconnected on Tuesday. Tim, the boys and I all have cell phones. I just feel like we are wasting our money with a landline phone. Well, no more!

Five Years Old

Happy Birthday to my blog! It's been five years since I started this journey and I'm still loving it. Sometimes I'm better disciplined about blogging than others, but I've kept at it.
